It's asking you to create a password, for logging into your own account for BOINC Games
It should not be asking you for a password to your existing BOINC account or anything like that, it's just a password you are creating for accessing your account on BOINC Games for forum access.

Also, the email used allows BOINC Games to notify you of sprint projects.
