    Amount of Memory question?

I currently have 512MB of PC3200 memory. Would it be worthwhile to go to 1 GB or would it have little if any improvement?

    XP2800/333
    512 MB Corsair pc3200
    A7N8X deluxe
    GeForce 5900

i think the extra ram would benefit you alot to a certain extent, If it's cheap enough, ya go for it, other wise, nah.... I usualy wish i had more ram when i am doing multitasking stuff, so anyways, bottom line, I's not gonna give you a SUPER speed difference, but i think it will help a little on some stuff, Anyone else got anything different to say? Mine's sorda a game PC i just don't play the games like Unreal Tournament, i do play HALO,and The Sims and numerous C&C games. Monopol tycoon, Roller coaster tycoon, Flight Sim 2000, And lots of demos that i plan to buy, such as Ghost Master, and others :D, i only have 256MB ram (PC2700) registered, so my ram is a little bit more rar and expensive or i would have more...

    Jeff,
My personal advice is as follows:
Unless you can find a great deal on memory, I wouldn't worry about it. However, if further down the road you experience performance issues, you might want to take another look at memory.
    Hope I helped

Since your OS basically "lives" within your ram, the more the better, but I dont think you will see see a big difference in performance over 512mb, unless you do video editing or something like that.

    BF 1942
    Mohaa
    Ghost recon
    Sudden Strike
    Silent Hunter
