****IMPORTANT PLEASE READ AND VOTE ****

You probably noticed the site was down today. I was trying to upgrade some Nuke stuff.

Due to all the vulnerabilities, I am considering dropping the PHPNuke site, and creating a HTML/php site.

I will try to use the information we have in our forums, but I cannot guarantee that if a new site is opened using phpbb that our db will work.

Please vote on whether you you think we should stick to nuke or go html/php.

    Please post any comments.

What ever will make it more secure. It doesn't matter to me either way....

Even if I loose my post count, I still am "The biggest post whore"

Even if I loose all the games I won, "I still won the most games"

As long as everyone knows that I rule both of those categories, I'm fine with it.

With that said, it's completely up to you.

I do have a question though.... Will we loose any of the posts???

We could possibly lose all of the posts. If that happens, I would try to make an archive.

I'd say go for the more secure option Jeff.

If the old posts cannot be imported to the new site... patience. We can always, as you said, have an archive of the old posts.

Posts last for as long as their content is valid and true, but a stable and secure website can last a lifetime.

I pm'd you on some run-downs of migrating. Posts show that all should be preserved. Depending on platform versions, there are modules and scripts around that do most of the job now.

then I found something else important and pm'd you again. You will want to read that post to make sure that host/provider support is 100% covered as it could affect how you plan such a migration.

i would be happy with either, if you want to change it then go for it.
There are good reasons for and against changing and al long as it works i will be happy whichever you decide.
however overall I would prefer it to be more secure.

    Thanks Dave

You can see the progress of phpbb2 migration at test.amdusers.com

Our host has phpbb included in the fantastico package, so that should not be a problem.
