If you mean about the project being optimized for AMD's I don't know... probably has no optimization for processors. But I have seen people saying that it runs much better under linux.

And I have to cancel my plans of sending back the workunit tonight. It was crunching great but now that it reached 66% the percentage stopped. So I don't know how long it will take now until it finishes...

According to the BOINC forums, BOINC is optimized for Intel CPUs and Microsoft OS. On the Linux side it works great if you recompile the program. If you don't recompile then the program thinks you have a slower computer then you really do. So the program might be idle while waiting for more work on your next update and your average credit score is way too low.

On the plus side. I just completed AMD users first work unit for this project.

    Congrats daddygeek! :D

May sound stupid, but does this resume after you quit? I ask because I read on their forums about something not resuming after you quit.

I don't know what you mean by resume after you quit? I noticed a new work unit downloaded when I was about 80% complete. And it just continued on to that new work unit.

PS. my computer is now number three in the top computers. YES

    Congrats again.

Nevermind about that question. How fast is your computer and how long did it take? I have a 1.4GHz running it and am wondering how long it will take.

I believe it took around 19 hours. After around 66% It just started going slower and slower and slower. And around 93%, I noticed the completion time was moving backwards about one second every 10 seconds. but it did finish, and now AMD users is in fifth place. :D

PS. 3700+ OC to around 4000

Hmmm... I turned BOINC back on just now and the WU crashed. It was crunching a few hours ago before i turned it off.

Does Rosetta have problems with the WU restarting? :?

What do you mean by turning it on and off? Don't you leave it up and running 24/7.
I do like the " computer is overcommitted"

They are saying, not to shut down the manager! it looks like the unit will complete but will not give you all the credit that you deserve.

No, I turn it off at times. I'm 14. But I do leave my computer on overnight, though I may have to stop it soon. My parents are concerned with the electricity bill rise in August. My computer was on for almost the whole month.

Guess I'll have to stay away from rosetta if they say not to close the client. Sorry team.

Good thing our powerplant uses coal. Running six computers 24/7, and one of them is a quad server.
I don't have to worry about heating my office in the winter.
