    Second pass work

Currently SOB is handing out second pass work units. These are smaller so crunch to completion faster. You don't need to change any settings, the 2nd pass work is being handed out by the SOB server automatically. It is recommended to run the latest version which is v2.5.0 as it is slightly faster than the old version. As the new tasks are small they also yield a lower cEMs / sec rate. Don't ask me why as I don't understand the Mathematics involved in it, they just ARE :!:

Our AMD Athlon XPs have a chance of completing a task in under a week now.

    Friends :!:

Go for it :!: My Athlon 64 3200+ is already there. I was tired of Boinc and didn’t know what to run. I checked SOB site and found they had released a new agent Sept this year using SSE instructions. I have thought I never should run this project again because the long running tasks as I crunched in May, but it is the best for me that time. It goes faster than last I ran it. You can test it and see. If you isn’t satisfied you can cancel the agent.

    Hej (hello) SOB-crunchers

I began SOB receiving 82 blocks k=24727 n=2742343, When done, I received more and more blocks. Right now I is running 115 blocks k=10233, n=30664877. As shows, n is mush greater compared to 82 blocks. Is this not a second test?
Each block takes 5.31 minutes to crunch. Not so bad I think.

    Computation resumed. Why happen this?
What means when “block report stalled – block added to submit queue?
Is above bad for the whole test or for my points?

    I’m a little :?

you will compute loads of blocks.

dont delete it now or those blocks will definatley be lost, just wait until you get a conneciton to SOB again and they will all send. (this is what happens when you select run offline)

the second pass units may be better for my Bartons, but they suck for my P4's. cEM/s are WAY down....

if you are going to quit make sure you do it as you hit 100% and set it to stop as proth test / current unit (or however it is now named) finishes.

otherwise when you re-start if you have a new unit (highly likely) it will submin at 1% and if you were at 50% then a loss of 49% will appear inder your stats - as effectivley you have goine back in time (processing wise-anyway.)

    Hello

In SOB we are 68 members on the ranking lists. However, only 11 of them are active. Our nearest concurrent Team Norway has 41 members and 14 active. It should be nice if we had more active or perhaps new percipients. Seventeen or Bust is no longer so danger for us who have an AMD with at least 2.200 GHz.

I have crunched a WU with 115 blocks who started this morning 02.11.17 and ended this evening 22.34.13. 20.23 hours of work. This shall be compared with the “old” WU:s who used a week to run it.

    Hello

I though SOB is annoying because the test is pending far too often. I have read on this on SOB´s forum but I’m not sure how to solve this. I must run regedit and change settings but how? I don’t like to manipulate the registry too often. In the forum, it says I shall quiet the agent. Who happen if I have a test ongoing? Will it be interrupted and when I lather restart, the agent the same work unit continues from where it stops or will I lost it or will it be pending?

Any help or explanation is highly appreciated.
