    Rejoin Dimes

Rejoin or restart your DIMES client. I noticed that our stats were going up very slowly, and when i looked at our stats here only 9 of the 114 DIMES members were active. We have more members than Free-DC on DIMES. If all of our users were active we would eventually beast Free-DC. I have never seen DIMES use a single percent of my cpu. DIMES also uses very little ram. In addition to low ram and almost 0 cpu usage DIMES uses very little bandwith, I have never seen it use more than a KiloByte/sec. So to the 114 AMD USERS of DIMES
    REJOIN.

I wonder if people remember to rejoin the Team after creating a new agent through the wizard.
I think the default is set to no team, so I wouldn't be surprised if many of our members were running anonymously. :?

    Starting Dimes

If you want to join or rejoin, download from http://www.netdimes.org/download.html

Run the download, most of the default settings should be ok. Choose whether you are a new user or a returning user.

For returning users, don't forget to select the "Join Group" icon then choose AMD Users (what else :roll from Group dropdown box.

MJ12 is a strong bandwitdh hogger. I'm not surprised that it causes problems to other projects that need bandwidth too.

    Hej

There is an Malaysian guy (PY222) who seems to be a nightmara for us. He have joined Free-Dc team and is on the first rank in their team in DIMES and in MJ-12 he is the worst I have seen, crawling 12.000.000 URL´s alone every day.
Free-DC have him to thank for their topranking. Without him we should not lose our first rank.

I notised he use 10 computers. Think if we were so lucky to have a new member joining us whith such a arcenal of computers. Any problem with the bandwidth seems he not have.

I'm running both Dimes and MJ12 together, I've noticed for a long time that Dimes does not seem to "contact" anything, no "maps" in a while too. I came out and went around my router tonight and Dimes worked for a change...I've tried to open a port in the router but I have had no luck. Windows firewall says it uses port 65534 but I can not verify this anywhere.
Other than that I don't have any problems running both thru my cable modem, I just hope my ISP doesn't start to complain about the bandwidth MJ12 sucks up!! I am on Adelphia cable in Virginia.....my traffic this month alone has been over 18,000 mb......I live in a very small town out in the country. :D
Keep up the good work guys!!!
