anyone know why DNet is down (and has been for about 2 days).
I am running out of workso may have to let BOINC take over for a few days.

its happened a few times now over the last couple months. i always keep 1000 units in the bank for that very reason.
I think I might "up" my cache, I'm running out as well.
I can still connect through via the client to fetch/flush work. just not the website itself.

Stats are currently down, and I'm unable to ssh into the box. Since I'm in
Belgium right now, there's not much I can do, but someone in the states should
be up and able to look at it in the next few hours.

I'll be updating PostgreSQL on stats shortly; there will be a brief outage.
This is just a wacky thought of mine, and I confess I don't know how these things work, but do you think it would be possible for Jeff to set up a proxy server for DNet for our Team?![]()

He should be able to. Bok did it for US-Distributed way back, and then Free-DC. Works good, and also allows you to keep tabs on your daily uploads, etc.![]()
A DNet proxy server could store large amounts of workunits to later distribute to us, right?(Right now that's the only reason I'd like us to have one. :P)

Well there's some restrictions there. You just can't suck in a ton of work units and save them for a rainy day as they are time-dated. It's been a while since I read the stuff, but the proxy load is an average of "X" days work. There's enough there that it gets you over a few days outtage of the main server. Plus you can maintain an amount on your cruncher.
But like here lately, I've still been able to connect to the main servers when I've been messing around today and yesterday. I think the main benefit of one though is it is really a help in tracking your stats on a daily/hourly basis as the main server only grinds out daily stats.
seeing as few of us crunch DNEt it wouldn't really be worth it.
Via the client it can still fetch/flush work so it doesnt matter too much. I will up my cache a little later so i have a spare few hours work just in case!
