    Our non-DC'ing activities

To keep all our new and recent members informed (and also to remind all the old ones too), I thought I'd post the non-DC'ing activitied we're also in.

    - We help saving the environment (Ecology Fund)
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=1933

    - We run against each others trying to keep our machines from rebooting the most we can (Uptime Project)
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=2001

    - We have our little community represented in the music website call last.fm.
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=1960

    - We also have a Frappr! map, in which people leave a pin of their location. Makes a funny effect on the map, to see where we are all from.
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=2920

    - We (used to) play OGame (not so much nowadays actually)
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...viewforum&f=57

We also used to have arcade games here, and a little chatroom, but we are now in transition to a new website, so they were disabled
    http://www.amdusers.com/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=1984

And there are more, if you care to dig in the deeper in the forums.

Many of these activities were started by us Team members, not the admins. Our admins have plenty of work on their hands already.
So, if YOU reading this have some idea of a game or other group activity that we could get into, especially if it involves teams, don't hesitate to post and tell us about it!

I think I forgot to mention that all these are free and we encourage people to join in and try out.

Off-topic: I wish I was in Urbana right now, I'd be in Assembly Hall instead of having to watch the Illinois-Iowa game on TV. GO ILLINI!

Never heard of it, but somehow I get the impression that Urbana is an online game, or maybe a place within an online game...

    So wrong!

See Kooonsty's location? Its a city. Its the location of the University of Illinois. The University of Illinois is playing the University of Iowa in basketball as we speak... err... type.

EDIT: and Assembly Hall is the stadium they play in.

    Had no idea...

Urbana, and "Assembly Hall" sounded like something out of one of those MMORPG's

The sad part is I'm at the university, and even I cant get tickets to my school's own freaking team. Assembly Hall would rather sell more expensive tickets to Alumni. So I too am watching them on TV.

I've had many a bad experiences with Ass. Hall. I had to deal with them when I was manager of a local convert venue here. No fun.

Rest easy because many people have thought of that already too. :P
I've seen a couple of threads around and about it on BBC's forums. I think that in the end, they agreed that the contribution of 100,000 pc's all working day and night was neglectible comparing to other major sources of pollution/CO2/whatever....
