Update: it takes some CPU cycles when initialising but after that its pretty tame. My xp3000+ has a hard time with it so I stopped it running on that rig. Dunno why but it sucks 100% cpu for ages, so bad that windows takes forever to finish booting. Kill Red Library and everything returns to normal. Weird thing is it only behaves this way on the 3000.

Forgot to let it through my firewall

Will download Threadmaster I think and run threadmaster, restricting the CPU usage of DLV. :D Also means I could possibly run some other projects like this one.

I had noticed it took about 100% CPU whilst verifying on startup but missed the parts when it was checking links. Did have it set to 10 links every 5 minutes. Will have another play when I finish these CAD excercise's and get back home

I just downloaded Threadmaster and installed it.
By default dnetc dropped 5million, cpu temp dropped from 55c to 41c.
So I started to fiddle with TM settings, nothing worked, I couldn't get my apps to run fast again.
Even when I un-installed it, there was no improvement. So I rebooted, now I'm back to "normal".

If anyone knows an easy way to throttle back some apps, I'd like to hear about it.

This is off topic. Perhaps any replies should be in another thread (no pun)

I don't get it! ...someone help me out here!

If you can only check a maximum of 10 links every 5 mins and each user is only allowed 3 clients along with points which are just cumulated on the quantity of links you have done, then he who starts first stays first and he who starts last...

Not being competitive, well maybe a little, but what is the point in teams if it only shows the teams with the largest and oldest users! ...it's a bit lame if you ask me!

I understand the role and the reason for the client but they could at least add a bit more competitive edge to the scoring if they want to use teams!

There you go, my rants over for this evening!!! :? ;)

Like you say, theoretically there is maximum per 24 hours. There no competition. But if you look at the daily stats on the RR site, you'll see many people have exceeded this number.

Maybe making use of the gravitational waves (see Einstein@Home) you can stretch space-time a little making that a day for you has >24 hours?

Everytime you restart it, it does ten links (if set to that.)

Maybe they do a lot of restarts
