    Yes they do work with x86/x64 and Itanium systems but you would have to compile say BOINC and the tasks to call the appropriate libraries for the coprocessor(s). Unfortunately, it would not be just a simple plug and go.

    I often recommend them for scientifc and modeling HPC grid designs as ClearSpeed fit perfectly in that sector. The guys who created them came from Cambridge University Science department (if I remember correctly).

    Boinc should try to be compatible with more different platforms... I know that by supporting windows, linux and mac it already covers 99% of every machine out there, but still there might be some powerful platforms that could be used for crunching if they had some support. (Just like the one you guys are talking about)

    Not to mention that it also looks great on a list of features Check out Distributed.net's list of supported architectures/OS'es...

    Squeezed some more juice out of my CPU.

    1.60v VCORE + 104%
    2.8v DRAM

    230mhz FSB
    11x mult.

    Fixed CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS (2-2-2-5)
    Small divider on the RAM

    It has gone from a 2009mhz stock to 2530mhz

    That's a 26% OC :D

    Now to see how (un) stable it is

    10/04/2006 20:28:20||Benchmark results:
    10/04/2006 20:28:20|| Number of CPUs: 1
    10/04/2006 20:28:20|| 3449 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
    10/04/2006 20:28:20|| 10547 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU
    10/04/2006 20:28:20||Finished CPU benchmarks

    Test with Prime95's torture test. You'll see your cpu going to temps you thought it couldn't!
