    Welcome Frederic Brillouet

    Welcome to the forums! :D

You appear to be the first registered member (in the forums) from Belgium, but I can't be sure about it because most people registered didn't enter their location. Either way, this is an international team, and everyone from everywhere is welcome. We got members from dozens of different countries chipping in, just take a peek at our team on Boinc Synergy's stats and check out all the different little flags we got.

Do tell us a bit about yourself, your machines, and what projects you like the most. And if you like quick games, try our Arcade and take a shot at the high scores. A warning though, they're pretty high already. :P

    Have fun!

    EDIT:
Just saw you on the stats, you're running on the mighty BBC project. I've been helping out on the Q&A section there when I can, so if you have any problems or questions with it, don't hesitate to post.

Thank you very much for the warm welcoming guys.

I read about the bbc project once and about a week ago, I thought I should try it.
I have an amd athlon64 3000+ S754 and an MSI mainboard (don't ask me which one, I wouldn't know). My computer has been running non-stop for the past 5 days or so. The day before yesterday, I upped the frequency to 2100 MHz from 2000MHz. It went fine for about 9 hours. Then, when i came back from the kitchen, I noticed the windows startup screen. Apparently my cpu had reached 70 degrees celsius, while 1 hour earlier it said 48-49 degrees. I have a Zalman cooler, which I think needs cleaning. Now I'm thinking of replacing it with an Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 Pro. Can anyone give me any advice on that cooler?
I hope my computer can contribute to this top team. At first, I didn't care very much about being a member of any team, but when i saw you guys in the top 5 of teams, i thought: Let's prove that AMD rocks! I certainly hope that we can achieve some amazing things as a team.

    Greetings, Frederic

    Nice first post Frederic.

You are very welcome here. I'm sure someone with some watercooling experience will answer your questions.

    Happy crunching :D :D

    hey.

    that does seem very hot!

Zalmen are usually a good make, especially for CPU cooling. If it does need cleaning it is probably worth doing this. You could add/replace the thermal paste providing the bond between processor and heat sink.

What case do you have? Do you have any case fans?

On my own AMD 64 3200 i was using a standard ATX Alaska case which has a side fan grill. This has screwed to it the intel cooling plastic style mould thing. Basically when an intel chip is used in this case it covers it exactly allowing the fan to blow air straight out of the case. However on AMD's it doesnt quite match up, simply by removing this from the inside my temperature dropped by 2 degrees.

    Thanks.

If i had the money, i'd like to buy me a Prometeia Mach II GT Phase-Change CPU Cooler Unit (link: http://www.frozencpu.com/cas-329.html). That would be a nice cooler for some oc'ing i think.

If anyone wants to know more about me or so, just ask.

I have an MS-Tech case LC-402 i think. There's a 120 mm fan up fornt near my hdd, a 60 mm at the back and a 60 mm in my side-window as well. Now I've removed the side with the window and went back to standard frequency 2000 MHz. It keeps running 45 degrees now, but there's a fair amount of dust between the cooling fins.

I don't have any knowledge on cooling systems, but I can give you a tip about the BBC project.
If you don't usually do backups, you're taking a risk. Most models crash due to lots of reasons. Here's a little tool that can help you alot:
