Over clocked settings through uGuru

Hi

I have as you all have read over clocked the processor a little. I got from 2247/204 MHz to 2277/207 MHz using the tool uGuru. I have write the difference in settings between the normal speed and over clocked speed. But there have not been any changes in RAC/CAS yet. I don´t know if I for example change the speed to 2.310 MHz if it will affect RAS/CAS?

thats barely a 1% overclock. you won't notice a difference.

edit: i now see you are running Norton System Works. that program itself slows down your machine alot, its an awful application.

On my compy, I brought the cpu from 2200mhz stock to 2600mhz (well 2640 to be exact: 11x240) right now I am back at stock, because HL2 wasn't working, and I thought maybe the OC was the cause of it.

I haven't done much with my VCORE, but I think I can get higher if I push it up a couple.

I am not on stock air though, I have a Zalman HSF that lets me idle at 30C when OCed :D

Then, for my video card (I don't think ocing your video helps any in this realm of computing haha) it has a stock 500mhz core, and 1000mhz memory. I brought that up to 550mhz and 1100 mhz with no artifacts or anything.

overall, OCing is just plain exciting! (oops, pushed it a little too far, gotta reset the BIOS) hehe lots of fun !

The uGuru recommend steps of 1 GHz for HTT each time for example from 204 to 205 but I jumped to 207 (3 GHZ) directly.
I will let it crunch for some days and see if it will be stable.

i think you can be a lot braver and add a few more than that at a time.

as PcManiac says, if your computer crashes from overclocking,and you can't restart it,reset the CMOS and start over again.

keep notes so you know for next time.


btw,my Intel 1.6A Ghz cpu has been running @ 2.396Ghz for almost three years now. that cpu is a champ!

Yes, I wich I could but I must fix the high temperature first. I guess an upgrade of BIOS will solve this if I´m right. Right now the:

CPU-temp is 83 C degree
Sys temp is 36 Cdegree (Seem good)
PVM temp is 42 C degree (also good I guess)

PVM=the temperature around the CPU power supplying circuit.

I have now reset the settings to default but am running at 2277/ MHz. before I had 2.247 MHz.

V-Core 1.500 V (Before 1.500 V)
AGPV: 1.55 V (working voltage of AGP video graphic accelerator slot.)
DDRV: 2.60 V (Displays the working voltage of DDR memory slot)
NBV: 1.55 V
SBV: 2.50 V (Displays the working voltage of NB (Northbridge) chipset)
HTV: 1.20 V (Displays the working voltage of Hyper Transport)

Right now the CPU-temp has sunk to 78 C degree, and Sys temp is 38 C degree and PVM is 43 C degree.

It seems as when I had a higher V-Core the CPU-temp get hotter. It is difficult to know when and how much Volt I must decrease. Is there any thumb rules?

Hi Empty_5oul

After 2 days I seem to have figured out what happen when my Graphic Card got a mishap. If I don’t reminds I have change the voltage for the AGP-card from 1.55 to 1.60 Volt. Perhaps that is the cause. But The GPU was hot and I think it have spread a little more warm air than it should. I was forced to reboot and after that the GPU was normal again. After normal settings for the Voltage there have been no fail yet.
