    Digital camcorder programs

    I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on software to transfer video from mini DV to a computer in order to burn it to a dvd(mpeg). i looked at some free software but it would not let me output into mpeg. any suggestions. I really dont need to edit it.

    what format is it as you take it off the device?

    Hey Ahab! I went to videohelp.com (very helpful) and i found one proggy that converts DV. Cbyer Link's PowerEncoder. It has free 30 day trial and said it converts the DV to MPEG 1 2 or 4 :D
