Neogen...what would be an easy project for me to start with?
Will it affect my climate work?

Any of those projects up there in the beggining of the thread is good for starting. They're up and running, have work widely available, and their workunits are short.
On the other hand it will indeed lower your BBC RAC a bit since with two or more projects, the boinc manager will split the cpu time for both, according to the shares you give to each.
You'll crunch 2 projects (or more), but each will only get 50% of the cpu time.

Yea... and the calendar I defined is actually not good for work computers. :P
You'd have to go there at weekends to change it, Saturday or Sunday.

By the way people, this time now, before we start, it's the best time for experiments. Remember that optimized boinc clients yeald more credits/workunit at many projects. And also, there are unnoficial Einstein@Home optimized apps that cut down the workunit time by half. Very nice!

If you had asked me that yesterday, I would have pointed you to the humungous thread that goes on the Einstein boards... but this morning (my time) our administrator Vaughan told me about a site, and it's great. Check it out!

I'm using an optimized client for Einstein. I forgot which one, but I'll try this one.
