    Under Clocked!

All this talk of Mitro's brand new OC'd DC Opteron along with the BOINC Championship got me clicking to see what everyone has...

and I found this beauty of NeoGen's
    http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/show_host_...php?hostid=343

Measured floating point speed 60.37 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 82.21 million ops/sec

can anyone of us get lower than that? else, NeoGen will have to give the prize for the slowest system cruncher to himself! ;)

    Hi

Can it be because he run Linux on a Pentium II? I have read anywere the Benchmark programs can´t test a computer as use Linux properly.

My pentium II 350 MHz as is running Windows ME (Because of JRE) has:

    304 MIPS Whetstone
    531 MIPS Dhrystone

You got me there blackheat! ;)

Actually, that was my AthlonXP 2000, running a QEMU virtual machine with linux on it. It was at a time when Leiden only had workunits for linux, and I thought I'd give it a try. I swear I'll never try QEMU again! That thing is slower than anything else I've seen lately... :?

Depends what your PC spec is Dee although it's a lot faster than NeoGen's virtualised system ! ...also, are you running one of the optimized BOINC clients on it yet?

Think I may have to run a virtual system just to see how bad it is!

    Dee

What is your version of Boinc? Is it 5.2.6?
If you have an optimised Boinc it should be 5.2.13 for Windows_intelx86.

Do your computer support SSE? If you not know, download CPU-Z version 1.33, run it and it will show you what your computer support.
