Hi...can any one advise re a broken fan....on an old pentium 3? Making an 'orrible cranky noise' It belongs to my sister - in France and she desperately needs to nurse it along until the end of the week. Are there other ways of cooling it?

thats the CPU fan?
if she has any other fans for a more recent processor that would work fine (providing they fit!)
Maybe opening the case and pointing at it one of those large domestic fans (can't remember a name for it) that people have at home to cool in the summer? :P
A temporary fix until it went to repair... :roll:

Me? I can practically build a pc! :roll: OK slight exaggeration...I've installed disk drives/sound cards/network cards etc! :oops: My sister doesn't have the same blind faith as I! ;) Also, she is actually in the French Alps...an hours drive from the nearest PC shop!![]()
