Let's spice up the race - QUESTION ANSWERED!

Well the BOINC Championship has been going well for me so far, but I think I’d like to make it a bit more interesting, so I’ve come up with a plan!

I’m going to give away one of my computers!!! OK… not really, BUT I’m going to give away its crunching power for the next leg of the race. “Who gets it?” you may ask. The first person who can answer one AMD trivia question.

The way it goes is that sometime in the next few days I’ll post a question and the first person who answers it correctly gets my dedicated cruncher (a 2.7GHz X2) under their name.

    A couple notes:

You’ll have to give me your email address & password for the project if you want it… sorry, it’s the only way I can attach the project. I promise I won’t do anything bad with it, I’m somewhat trustworthy.

I don’t suggest you “normal” crunchers go for it, as that will knock you into the pharmers league and hurt you in the long run. If you want to thats fine... just know that its going to knock you into the upper bracket.

    Anyone interested?

What about TWO computers? I may get generous and offer a bonus question. :P

Sweet. I could use the help. :P NeoGen, if you read this, what's the border between "regular" and "pharmers"? I could use the boost if it doesn't bump me into pharmers.

EDIT: The problems I see when you do this trivia, is that people are in different time zones. I maybe in school while the question is posted and someone in like Australia for example answers it. :P

If you reach or surpass 3,000 credits in in the 5 days, you're promoted. Up to 2,999.99 you're still on the regulars.

I'm still to think of how I'm gonna solve the problem of people ending up on both leagues, when it happens...

Neo... here a suggestion. If someone gets more that 3000 credits, but is generally in the lower bracket, they get 10 points in the Regulars League as well as the person who is highest, but under, the 3000 limit. BUT... you are only allowed to do it for 1 or 2 races, otherwise you are bumped up to the pharmers league.

    Just a thought.

You're Idea fascinates me there Mitro, it makes me think of a Grid Computer. You have an extension into an enviroment that is maintained by someone else yet you control the machine from far distances. Absolutely brilliant, Sun could use you and all your wisdom as they do the same thing but they do it for a price of $1.00 per CPU for One Hour, which equates to 8750 hours in a year.
Just how long will the correct answer person have control of your computer?

Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.

    OK… here’s the question:

Name FIVE Athlon64 core codenames: (not Opteron, Sempron, or X2 names… single-core FX are OK)

    Think geographically.

    Good luck.
