    image capture/ video capture

I have a DVD which i need to take a clip from.
I could do many print screens on it but this is not ideal and the result would be jumpy playback.

Has anyone ever used a video capture tool where i can specify the start and end points and export this seciton as video (.wmv or .avi probably)

My other idea was from using a tool in DVD X Player (image capture facility), i need it to be automated so i can specify take a screenshot every x.x seconds?

    any ideas or comments please.

i downloaded the trial and it looks great.

but i am pulling from a DVD. It has an audio_TS and video_TS folder. I am not intersted in saving the sound but i still cannot import the .bup .ifo and .vob files. I need it to already be in a single format containing all the data to edit it.

EDIT - i managed to convert it to avi. but the playback is a little jumpy but i think that could be my machine. The filesie jumped from 250meg to just over 2gig. :?

Did you just need a DVD-Video to avi converter?

Here is a list of em

The first one looks pretty good, haven't tried it though.

You should try MPEG Video Wizard from Womble Multimedia.

    http://www.womble.com

Download the free trial (fully functional for 30 days). That's a perfect tool to cut out or copy scenes and paste them together. It handles all common input file formats like mpeg, avi, DVD etc.

Give it a try. If the trial period is not enough, I can tell you how to extend it :D :D :D

    Cheers Hermann
