How long do the WU's take??
depends on the WU type u get and the machine ur crunching on, the WU I got on my 900 Mhz is a GROMACS core, runs 20000 steps at about 1 minute a step, my 3 Ghz got a AMBER core WU, runs 500 steps, but much longer per step. The 900 Mhz is a 24/7 cruncher, so it should have the WU done in a little under two weeks, but my 3 Ghz stays off at night, so it will take maybe a week to finish its WU. dont fear tho, u get plenty of credit per workunit (tho my stats on folding website says ive done 45 WUs, i've actually only done 3, got 2684 credits for them). U have the option of crunching deadline or non-deadline workunits, but the deadlineless WUs are longer, usually the GROMACS core.
Edit: I've seriously got to post on here more, i've been with the team for almost a year now and that damn one star newbie is still under my name![]()
In wildness is the preservation of the world, so seek the Wolf in thyself...
Thanks outlawolf. Do you use any advanced methods or do you run Electron Microscope III ?
PROBLEM: started to move out of BONIC to F@H
but the WU will end on 16 SEP 2007, YES 416Days
The Processor was on a heavy load when the benchmark started, will the date change as I move some of the load to another CPU?
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?
Congress!
Can't you just rerun the benchmarks. That should bring everything back in line. ?????
I think the only people that *may* understand boinc are the programers that work on it. It's got to make sense to someone somewhere. Whether or not they are of this world is hard to tell!
If it starts getting a bit cooler over here in London then I'll gladly fire F@H up for the race on all my boxes!
Which runs best the Linux, Windows GUI or the Windows CLI version?
I don't think it really matters much unless you are running XP64 on X2 AMD chips. How many systems are you talking about?
I was scoping out the TPR stats and output earlier today. They have some serious daily production over there from their regular daily members. I don't really have any idea of what they may pick up in terms of additional crunchers for a race, but one would have to assume that they will pick up some more crunchers.
What we need are some farmers willing to run the race for a month. However like you, I am in the middle of a long running hot spell and cannot run my farm as it is just to much for the A/C. And it appears that the heat issue is pretty wide spread this summer. Plus I see that rolling blackout are hitting various areas.
When grouped together a little over 20Ghz - I didn't use them all for the Championship so it would be fun to see what they would do!
I'll add my 5.12 GHz (2*2.56) at least 12/7 until RS has sorted out most of their bugs, then i'll run F@H 24/7.
Will i have to run two F@Hs or is F@H mult-threaded?
