    Hummmmm.....there is nothing that can make me buy an Intel processor ever again....except if AMD goes out of business....and you just can't buy any of them anymore.

    Very nice from the looks of it but I still think AMDs new products will match or beat it. Not sure what the changes are but the new Opteron is supposed to be out in the next couple weeks. Socket F I believe.

    Is AMD's next wave of products going to make it out before next year?

    The 'Pacifica' based Opteron Socket F's are rolling out to us manufacturers now. The new numbering schemes are as follows;

    1000 for single socket
    2000 for dual socket
    8000 for multi-socket

    So for the multi-socket boys the numbering and speed rating goes as follows;

    8210 - 1.8Ghz
    8212 - 2.0Ghz
    8214 - 2.2Ghz
    8216 - 2.4Ghz
    8218 - 2.6Ghz
    8220 - 2.8Ghz

    ...and you'll only have to wait a short while afterwards, Jan/Feb, for the monsters which will give Intel a run for their money!

    EDIT: Sorry but I have had to remove the release dates from this post! :oops: :roll:
