Folding @ Home Challenge from TPR

It has been proposed in the F@H forum/thread by a member of Team Phoenix Rising that their team have a race against our team. They have around 30 admitted active folders. I don't know offhand what we have but it isn't anywhere near that. The race would run through August 31. I am curious as to how many team members we could muster up for this effort. If you would be interested in this effort please post up so we could try and see if it would even be worthwhile to try this. If and_users goes for it, I intend to participate using linux systems.

I don't want to shut down Rosetta@home for a month but for the team i will.

I'm living in a apartment now and not up to full power. So add in:

    Amd 3700+
    Amd 2400+
    hp 700x6
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

I know what you mean. I was putting it all into OGR, and a month will hurt me there, but a challenge is a challenge.

I can contribute at least a 900 Mhz AMD and 3 Ghz P4 to the cause, tho it will cut into my rosetta run.

This is really great!! They are coming out of the woodwork! Unfortunately everyone that contributes to the cause is giving up effort on some other project. One the bright side though, at least the rosetta people will still be working on a folding effort that is also providing extremely positive results. So at least for me anyway that helps as I know that the F@H project is one of the top examples of everything positive in distributed computing. The other one that I think is just top notch too is Rosetta.

If you have a system or two that you can possibly spare til the end of August, please jump in and give us a hand. If you can't, at least give us your kind thoughts!

And thank you outlawolf for your kindness!

Come-on lurkers! Join in the fun! We could use your help in this effort. We still have a few days left before it starts so the client software can be installed and verified. The other side has 30 folders that they have admitted to. We need some more help team!

ive gone ahead and moved the 900 Mhz over to folding and half of the 3 Ghz too, other half of the P4 is on climatepredition.net. had an older workunit suspended while it ran rosetta. once that WU is done (bout 150 hours left) i will double it up on folding.
