I found in life that it's not the big things that frustrate and aggravate you it's the small ones
I bought my Athlon 64 X2 4200, my big concern was getting the multipliers right for ram, it wasn't a problem
had to settle for Mushkin XP2-5300 Xtreme Performance Black Series(not bad ram ) city is in short supply of PC2-6400
I got the blue screen of death a few times loading XP, but I had in the back of my mind what daddygeek mention about memory voltage.
after the third crash I went into the BIOS and set the DDR2 voltage to 1.9 which daddygeek had warned me about(one of those small things) and boom XP loaded
I'm Boinc testing today, both cores crunchin' away. I'll go thru the threads again tomorrow and try to set it up so both cores are running for Folding.
this proc deserves a better mobo, faster ram and more cooling(not complaining my liquid cooled Barton 2800+ runs 55 c verse stock cooled 4200 dual @ 54 C)
daddygeek a huge thanks for a small thing :headbang:
I love you man (on my 9th or 10th wooblie pop) :drinking:
thanks Big Whiskey
