    Climate experiment one module done

Hi Guys....I'm at 96.89% so I'm nearly done....wanted to say thanks...and bye for now....I may come back to join another, but I'm going to give my machine a bit of a rest. I've been at between no 8 -10 for a while now, so I'll let someone else in! :P
I may look around for another...see if I can figure out how to join in that!

Congratulations on completing one!!! A major achievement really as they take so long to do. And yes, there are a lot of other projects out there that don't require the huge time investment per work unit.

At the other end of the spectrum is a project called EON. Very simple to run, and it process work units in less than a minute. So there's a little more action there and the project can be started and stopped on a moments notice.

Dee... you were crunching a BBC model, right? My god, those are excruciating to any machine (and its owner)... do give it a rest when it's finished...

But don't let that keep you away from the site, we need a female voice around here to keep us straight and out of trouble... :P

Yes....The BBC model...has taken months! I was determined to complete it though! I think one of those is enough though. I like the concept of shared computing so I will be back...and of course I will keep an eye on you guys! ;)

They really need to re-think/re-design their work unit model. It's just too long and needs to be broken up. How many people have started to crunch for them and just given up out of total boredom and frustration? And if they say they can't shorten it, then they just aren't really interested in trying. It's a good project that needs to be done, but their approach just isn't cutting it for the masses unfortunately.

I know exactly what you mean with those climate models. I am up to 30% now (1969) still a long way to go...

Thanks for reminding me of this project. I think I'll try to run one Climate Prediction WU on one of my cores while Predictor@Home is down. I figure it will be at least several weeks, if not a few months, before P@H is ready to send WU's out again.
