    90 nm and 65nm

    hi
    cane some one tell me what s differance between amd turion 64 x2 90nm
    and intel core2 duo 65nm
    what does nm stand for

    nm stand for nano metre and is a meaurse of how small the processor bits are...bits is a vague e term cos I don't know rightly myself but something on the processor is 90nm or 65nm in your examples

    I think it's the size of the transistors inside it... I think that usually a processor that has a smaller manufacturing process also consumes less power and generates less heat... but then the chip makers increase the frequencies of the chips (GHz), and the power consumption and heat generated rises again... (but a new speed record was broken)
