This is the error message I am getting:

    Gateway Timeout
The following error occurred on tenet-cache.saix.net:

[code=GATEWAY_TIMEOUT] A gateway timeout occurred. The server is unreachable. Retry the request.
    Please contact the administrator.

Now SAIX.NET is the South African Internet Xchange, which is the universities ISP...what do you guys think the problem is on thier side?

Just a thought but how long have you been running BOINC at Uni?

Maybe they might block the connection because they feel it's to much upload/download bandwidth that they don't need.

I mean I got on quite happy last year in Uni halls using BOINC and other DC programs. Only things that were blocked were all P2P programs but maybe there more strict at your's?

    Just a thought.

Good point, My usage is really limited though and the errors seem to be coming from the ISPs side...the Uni doesn't actually know I am using BOINC on thier network, so they probably don't have a clue. However at the same time I don't want to tell them there is a problem in case they do block me...catch 22

Don't most BOINC sites have some kind of scientific explinations and/or papers about the thing there running? Say you want to view those

I know our uni ran monitoring software on there servers to see what was being used.

Obviously wasn't to good because my media got hacked...but then my firewall wan't at it's highest and I was running a VNC connection...
