opteron 221x series and socket f mb

    Greetings all,

Does anybody have a dual socket F based setup using the 221x cpu's yet ?

    If so, do they overclock?

It looks like the Asus K8n mb is the way to go for this setup.

You won't get far with that motherboard if you're trying to fit a couple of 2000 series Opterons in it.

    try this one KFN32-D SLI

Now you've sent me on a quest...

I'm finding it difficult (actually can't find any!) air ot water cooler blocks that will fit the 1207 socket so I'm not too sure it would be a good idea to O/C it just yet!

Good choice as the Woodcrests have storming performance! ...although if you spend your cash on an AMD Sock F motherboard then at least you know you can upgrade to the true Quad Opterons next Summer (start saving now though! :? :D )
