    3500+

Does anyone know how long you can run a 3500+ w/stock cooling at 2.845?

I ended up talking mama into some dual cores so I need some sockets to put them in. You should see what I did to a 3200+ lol

I was going to get an E6600 system but now I decided I need to get one of the GeForce 8800 cards instead so I can play Crysis in all it's glory. :D

I have over clocked my AMD 2300+ a further step.
The External clock is now at 218 MHz. Normal is should be 204.
The Speed is 2,398 MHz and standard is 2,204 MHz.

I tried 220 and 2,406 but it went not well. The computer shouted down and Windows began to dump the memory. Every time I tried Turbo settings or as now the computer didn’t accept it. The temperature was not over 65 Celsius yet. Now the CPU is only 44 C warm. It is very good and fan speed is between 1,380 and 1,440 rpm/min. Max is 1.600.

    Benchmark result so far is:

    4,089 Floating points MIPS
    13,254 Integer MIPS

The computer runs very stable so far. No shutdown.

I wish I could over clock my Old Athlon. Its motherboard is made for 1,100 GHz but it has no UGuru tool as make it easy to over clock. No problem with the heat on this computer. I’m not used play with the bios. If I try perhaps I make a mistake and the motherboard and other stuff can be damaged.

I had my dual core up to 263 and 12X or 3.15 GHz and the heat went through the roof so I calmed it back down to 2.65GHz and its doing fine at 58C. This stock cooling but it is the first stock cooler I have seen with heat pipes, I have a Big Thyphoon II on order. I ordered another 4800+ and today instead of getting it I got a backorder notice. I think I'll just go with the 5200+ and move up to an AM2 Motherboard. There's only $100 differance. Anyone have any recommendations on a MoBo?

If I were you I'd take a look at the two ASUS ones...

The ASUS Crosshair for Nvidia or the ASUS M2R32-MVP Crossfire for ATI.

Both are great boards with loads of options to tweak for overclockers.
