AMD's Quad-core, The Quadfather, will be released on Nov. 14 according to the Inquirer. It will be released under the FX-70 series. The FX-70 runs a 2.6Ghz. The FX-72 runs at 2.8Ghz, which outclocks the Kentsfield. The FX-74 runs at 3.0Ghz, which breaks the 3Ghz barrier.

The Quadfather will have a little more than 4,000 FSB, because each core will have its own 1K.

The Kentsfield has more cache though, 8MB VS. 4MB

According to the Inquirer AMD has lowered its price so severly that the 3Ghz version matches the price of the Kentsfield.
