    You've got to love Linux...

    Code:
    chris@deepblue:~$ uptime
     13:59:46 up 14 days, 13:42, 2 users, load average: 3.62, 2.55, 2.24
Not had that on a windows box ever I think :D

Still running as smooth and well as when I just turned it on 2 weeks and 14 hours ago :D

Yep, I have unix servers that several hundreds of users operate on that stay up for as long as I want. Usually only requiring boots to single user mode for patches or cluster upgrades. Back in the days of running novell, I actually had a netware 3.12 server that was up for over a year before I had a hardware fault that cause me to power down.

My Windows system was up for well over a month until I upgraded Norton's and had to restart last week. So far it has been very stable.

The reason I did a Norton's update was that CCPROXY.EXE was slowly taking over resources to the point where 70-75% of my processor capacity was being used by it. It may have had something to do with monitoring the Majestic-12 URL's being crawled. I didn't really know what was causing the resource problems, but since the update of Norton's the issue has not come back.

Where's our old Uptime Project team these days??

We used to have over 15 people there, and I remember someone was running a Linux system that hadn't been rebooted in well over a year already.

The site suffered some kind of crash a few months ago and teams vanished... I remember we had to rebuild it. Try to log on the site and re-joining us.

EDIT: Wait... you show there as already being in our "League". That's strange... you should be showing on the site too then...

After they brought it back up some people's updates were lcoked up in the database causing their stats to freeze.

They have an instruction that may help you fix it.
Go to their home page (click "start" on the left side of the top-menu)
then click on the article "Illegal uptime"-Self-Service!

If you log in, then go to your profile, the last update may have an [x] next to it to allow you to delete that session entry which should then cause the database to start accepting your updates again. (I don't know why they didn't automatically do this for everyone whose records were locked)
