64 X2> Core 2 Duo?
I don't know what the core 2 duo line-ups are and if this is a good comparison, but check it out.

169372 is a "GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz"
128933 is my " AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+" @ OC'd to 2.56Ghz
Even if the 6300 is a lower end Core 2 Duo, that's still 16,000 seconds maybe Core 2 Duos are worse than AMDs or math projects.

Not knowing what else the Core Duo was doing at the time I'd say no not a really good compariosn.
I mean Riesel Sieve's a maths project and on LLR, it hands down beats any other chip around.
When the RS forums comes back up, I'll link you to the threads that mackeral's posted about Core Duo Vs the rest.

I bet you're running an optimized client though and the Intel owner isn't!

Might seem silly but the way I compare is in the results. My 4800+ took 473.44 to run this wu in Tanpaku. The core 2 duo 6600 took 521.14 longer the wu bigger the gap.

I am totally against political jokes....I've seem to many of them elected!!

Optimized clients can and do produce quicker results due to typically utilising the SSE (1, 2 & 3) of the processor.

So are there any optimized clients for linux and amd-64 for this project? Anyone running it around here? I hit it hard in the beginning but haven't done anything with it in a long time. I put one linux system back on it tonight to see what's up.
