    D2OL versus Predictor

    To All,

    Simple, but sincere question.....

Both Predictor and D2OL are working on the same thing..

Predictor uses the new generation of DC (BOINC), while D2OL
still uses the single host -> sponsor technique.

This is much like Seti classic (Seti @ home) versus the new
    Seti - Boinc.

There's no cheating, and it takes a quorum to validate.

It looks to me as if we are somewhat split across the two.

Am I out of line in suggesting we consider focusing on 1 or the other?

    Comments / Suggestions ?

I like D2OL and I'm going to use it for a while but you can split your processing power.

D2OL and Predictor teams against US Distributed.

    Ok,
Then given we have a majority participating in D2OL.....
I will bias my processing toward Predictor for now.

If my crunching is needed on D2OL... Just hollar.

We have slipped to #9 in top recent credits and #6 in top points. My efforts are needed there to keep us in the top 10 or higher as long as possible.

May I ask for help if needed?

Once I installed Predictor and suddently there was two windows, one for the program and the other was a DOS one. Was that normal or just an error?

This was happening on my windows 98 system also. Thanks to Wdsmia you can do this to stop it. Using file explorer, locate the file named conagent.exe in windows system directory. Right click on it and then click on properties. In the properties window, click on the program tab, and on the last line 'Run', set it to minimized. Then click on OK. This will keep the annoying dos window from popping up when you're working on something else.
