I wonder if it is because of all our fancy Sigs? maybe?
If you can't make it ... Don't come!

    I traced the loading components.
It is the Pi Segment signatures.
The trace shows the delay is "Transferring data from pisegment.vicp.net..."

They get loaded for every page view from the Pi Segment Server which is on a dreadfully slow link atm as we all know.

If we all disable the Pi Segment signatures on our sigs the problem will go right away.

At least until the asian undersea Internet cable is fixed in about 6 weeks time or so.

Want a faster response? - drop the Pi sigs.

    Confirmed.
This page with no Pi Seg Sig - Fast
Previous page with Pi Seg Sig - Slow

BTW can someone on the Pi Seg project contact JUST and recommend that he disable the sigs from his end until the undersea cable is fixed as this I/O problem must also be playing merry h*ll with his server and what ever other forums people may have these sigs on will be going slow too.

    Just a thought.

Just goes to show. An undersea problem the other side of the world effects every AMD User and other teams as well.

A nice bit of investigation Dave.

Well, he is a "Legend in his own mind". Some of that legendary ability has been shared with the rest of us. No kidding, good work Dave.

Haha, I'm glad it wasn't our server. We have over 200GB of bandwidth available to us each month, and we use rougly 4 or 5GB. So we are good!

isn't there a way for an admin to deal with the problem right now from this end?

if Just doesn't ever reply, will the problem never go away?
