Sorry to hear Mattew. Thanks to the warm winter in Sweden our electrical bill has decrease. We use waterpower, nuclear and wind power here.

Thank you for your contribution. You has done much good for AMDusers, don´t forget that.

    Take care and welcome back.

I understand that Sweden has, as a percentage, more renewable energy generation than any other nation. Eventually they will be at a point where fossil fuels will be the "alternative" energy source.

Locally I spend about $65 per month on average for electricity. My last bill (December) was $69.27 for the month for 880KWH usage. In November my bill was $58.32. I benefit from low $$/KWH costs and the fact that I live alone - and very frugally.

The landfill option is fairly rare..
Mind when I'm at home in Devon, theres a fair few renewable options about..Wind power (mainly Cornwall), tidal power (huge underwater turbine off the coast of Lynmouth), farmyard waste (burning cow sh*t to produce heat for the water..smell around the place is a bit iffy ), renewable burning (fast growing wood etc) and geothermal. Not bad for a little county

You'll be surprised how many Gas-to-Energy sites there are in the UK. All of the major landfill operators have a number of G2E sites, including Viridor, Sita, Biffa, Onyx, Cleanaway and Summerleaze. Cleanaway are slowly filling the thames estuary (sp) with rubbish, which will become one of Europe's largest G2E sites.

Can you tell I used to work for a company that manufactures Landfill Gas Analysers? :P

Evil Dragon I myself will miss your energetic motivation in your projects and wonder how we will handle the fort while your gone. You will be missed my friend. This hurts inside, coming from you, one of our strongest and devoted crunchers, you will be deeply missed. Stop in once awhile and say howdy.

Sorry to hear of the electricity problems, my bill runs over $200 per month and sometimes 300. I heat with a pellet stove and electricity runs the hot tub, one heater in the bed room, swimming pool in the summer, window unit air conditioning in the summer, and the usual appliances, plus two to three computers. Good luck Matthew and I hope you can return soon !!!

Wow... This sounds all to familiar... I had this same problem a few months ago... I had to make some personal sacrifices to continue crunching... I wish you all the best buddy. Don't forget to pop in and say hello every once in a while...

Sorry to see you go. Our eletric rates are pretty low (4.5 cents/kwh), so we pay 80/month year round. However, since I live in the sticks everything else is nearly double.
