Question New to DC and Team

    Hi,

I was sitting around looking at all my EXTRA computers the other day, Wondering what to do with them. I can't throw them away. And I may need a spare if I let the magic smoke out of one by mistake.

Then I found a link to BOINC.

Anyway (this is a long story), how do I link my stats to the AMDusers Team?

    Welcome to the team!

Long story - short. Each of the projects you join will have a link to 'My Account'. On that site, you should find a Community Section with a Team listed. If it still says Join a Team, click the link and then do a search for AMD. Join the AMDUsers team, and your stats on the AMDUsers site http://stats.amdusers.com/amd_users_position.html will show up when the stats are updated tomorrow ...

    Ok,
Thanks meshmar. I am still feeling my way around. I'm only doing werk for 1 project (nanohive). I have 2 machines on that (one AMD and an Intel), and will add 1 or 2 projects later.

    I actually have 7 (working 1Ghz+) computers I could put on-line...someday

I have been building my own computers for about 4 years. I am using AMD cpu's and ASUS Mb's. No problems so far. Mostly Crucial or Corsair ram. I've learned to like cases with 120mm fans, the sound of silence...

My latest build is an AMD 3800+ on a ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe (For gaming of course).

As far as building. I don't need the latest/greatest. I tend to build the best I can get for around $500 or so. I am a slave to gaming, sort of. I built my last confuser just for BF2142. Twin video, 2 gig ddr2 ram...

The best you can put in a V100 is an opteron 939 chip. Unfortunately that is all I know of the V100 is that they are stuck at the 939 level of performance for the moment. They may upgrade the compatibility to the AM2 or 1207 pin chips but not that I know about just yet.

My Suggestion is by the most/best you can afford.
