If you want to have cheap electricity don't come to Illinois! I just got my first full month of the new rates and I'm looking for heart meds now! Last Feb the bill was $145.74 for 3195 KWh this Feb the bill is $429.58 for 3733 KWh. How's that for an increase. Had half a months increase last month and felt it a little but this is a shocker.

dood! that is crazy! I have an idea for you. are there any gas stations near you with propane? if so, get a Generator, and convert it to run on propane. but like a 70lb tank, (oh, you might need a truck too) and just run all your computer stuff off of propane! might be cheaper anyway ... just a little louder :D

Many many political contributions to the right pols. Guess who got screwed lol. I called 2 of my state reps today and requested a refund on my contributions. I'm sure the check is in the mail. lol

It just may be that some of our elected officals are having their crainal/rectal problem examined. You can pass a lot of laws and still get re-elected because some people always wore seatbelts, and some don't drink or gamble and smoking is always getting hammered but when you screw with everyone that has an electric bill the public tends to have a memory all the way to election day. It seems that today some of them are trying some damage control.

We've got it so much worse in the UK.
Our last 4 months bill was £145.04 for 1172 kWh.
Thats about $300. Thats more than whatever you pay for 3 times the amount of electricity!!

1172 hours in 4 months!!!!!!!!! chit my cpu coolers eat more than that in 4 months!! Where do you live in a cave with candles? That's only 10 days of elec! It somehow doesn't make me feel better because you getting screwed too. I have a cousin down in Kentucky that saw the mess in my state in the paper down there and called to laugh. He had to rub it in that he lives only miles from the Lake Barkley hydeoelectric dam pays only $0.012738 per KWh. And he has some of the best bass fishing in the country! I'm not really that upset about the rate increase as long as they have another KWh to sell me I'll buy it. lol It's if they run out that I'll get upset!

Do you mind where your electricity is generated? Would you mind if I turned your Municipal Sewage into Electricity or even your garbage you put on the curbside? That is called BioMass Generation, seems a lot better to generated fuels from something that is renewable then use fossil fuels..!?!?!?!

or 'There is not enough TRASH' to make the project VIABLE!!!
The last was used where i live, so now we have a 'wood chip' plant, and we truck in wood chips from out of state to keep the plant running.....
