In boinc projects you have the option to set it to connect every 'x' days, the bigger the number the more WU's it queues up. You set it to a high number, and click to refresh. Boinc will get the new definitions and queue up enough WU's to last for those days.

In non-boinc projects it depends on the project, but I think D2OL also has an option to queue up to 2,000 wu's or so.

If you want many WU`s set your preferences connect the server to 10 days if you run Boinc. Then you can pause the project or begin crunch them by clicking “No more work”. If you want to run TSC you can queue up whole 2.000 WU´s. You can begin run it immediately but don’t forget disable the connection into the TSC node. You have full control and can dump your work whenever you want.

But I will not recommend 2,000 WU´s. It takes at least 3 weeks. Begin with 500 and in the Nodes preferences set the amount of WU´s to 300. Then you may zeroed the Candidate Queue Size to 00. When you then upload your work units you got 0 new one. You can see how many WU´s you finish per day. Say you finish 150 per day and night it is easy calculate how many you need the rest of the week.

    Guys!

In a few hours the first stats reading for the contest will be done!

I just want to warn you to not dump your cache of workunits before I reach the forums.
I might get home a little later than midnight, but I'll make the stats reading as soon as I arrive.
And right after that I'll post saying that I just did it, so then you can upload your stored WU's.

    Is Everyone Ready!?

    Shotgunner101,

With D2OL, you can set how many wu's your system will keep on the machine using the "Properties" button. Example: Set the "Candidate queue size" to around 100-200. (Ooops. Do a manual update here, before you go offline...need those wu's..)

Then use the "Status" button to take your computer "Offline". Now D2OL will now crunch away on the wu's, But not report any. Minimize or close. Do not EXIT!!

After the race starts, Go back "Online" and let D2OL do it's thing. It normally reports about every 6 hours I think. You can adjust your queue level down so you only have 12-24 hours of wu's stored.

You can do a "manual" update after the race startes if you want. This will get your points on "the board" and re-load your queue.

    Have Fun!

Damn, I beleived we should run TSC so I downloaded 200 WU´s and begin crunch. Then I saw we should run D20L. I stopped and change to that project and have now my Intel, and 2 AMD´s on that project. Intel may be slow but if it finish 25 WU´s it is better than nothing. Target Unknown(1F8E) is hard to crunch but our concurrents may dread
