We don't crunch Boinc, we crunch "with" Boinc.

Now seriously speaking, the Boinc Alpha project is a closed project, and I don't think anyone here has an account on it, that's why unfortunately the AMD Users Team is not represented there.

Plus, I heard that it takes a bit of commitment from the participants, like running detailed tests with the alpha clients they release and reporting results or bugs found.

I prefer to just set it and forget it.

Now thats strange. It was open when I checked a few hours ago (before I left to watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3 with friends. ). Ah well, I'm in there now, but I doubt I'll do much.

I have Accounts @ about 40 of the BOINC Projects but the Alpha Project is 1 of the few I don't have. If your not going to use it would you consider giving it to me, I'd be grateful & I would run under the AMD Team Banner ...

Just trying a different avenue to this frustration. I uninstalled Boinc Completely and then removed every file associated with BOINC. Then I did a complete diagnostics on my machine , even defragged it and made it act faster. I then reinstalled BOINC, fingers crossed, but to no avail after I connected to the first project it took less then 3 minutes before it locked up. Now what gets me all confused is the fact that I have a duplicate machine running the same basic configuration, processor, up to date Windoze Updates, almost the same in programs, yet the other one works fine.

If there was ever a time to scratch your head and say hmmm, this is it!

Challenge me, or correct me, but don't ask me to die quietly.

…Pursuit is always hard, capturing is really not the focus, it’s the hunt ...

Are you Overclocking it at all, or is Heat an issue, if either 1 of those things are the problem it can lock up BOINC, trust me I know from Overclocking all my PC's.

If that's not the Problem then try UnInstalling BOINC and go into the Registry and Delete anything that pertains to BOINC then Re-Install BOINC & see what happens. If that don't fix it then something else is Corrupt on your PC & you may need to Reinstall the OS after Formatting the Drive.

I know that might be a drastic step but I've had to do it several times to get BOINC to run right ... Good Luck

LOL ... I turned 1 Core Loose anyway ... ... I didn't want to break another Project ... ... I still have the TMRL Project on the Ropes, been able to get some WU's Uploaded today and their still slowly Uploading at the moment anyway. Hopefully I can get them all Uploaded overnight & then I can turn a few more Core's loose on the Alpha Project.

Weird Project, the WU's take only about 60 sec's to run & then you have to Upload a 4+ mb File ... ... I don't think my PC's can take that much Uploading running 4 @ a time, the first 4 wouldn't be Uploaded yet before I would have another 4 and so on. I can see a big backload of WU's waiting to Uploaded for that Project too.

I've been conversing with Comcast about my Upload Speeds, I signed up for the best they had the other day but haven't seen any improvement in my Upload speed, my downloads took a jump though. I'm going to call them again and see what they have to say about it. It could just be the Project or something on my end like my Router or some other thing, I don't know ...
