    Strange error

During Boinc start-up process as run on my Intel Core2 Duo I receive a red coloured message as chows below. When I run Boinc on AMD Athlon64 this message don’t shows. Can it has anything to do with the fact PrimeGrid runs on 2 cores so it creates a conflict? Boinc runs properly yet but the read message is annoying and say something isn’t correct.

If for some reason the two instances of primegrid (in dual-core) are accessing the same file, then that error comes up. One gets the file, the other tries to get the file but can't. But I think that's not supposed to happen.

That is what first came up with my Boinc being Broken (previous Post) I see you are using the same BOINC 5.8.16 that I am trying to use... Something is amiss with that .exe file! See => I am not alone with this dilemma!

I had to stop Boinc because I should run WCG and Moneybee for a while. Before I had forbidden any connection and stopped PrimeGrid from collect WU´s. When I then started Boinc I first allowed connestion to their server and second I allowed more work.

The Boinc startup went normal and no errors was found. What can one say?

Cool Personally, I think it is a Intel problem!

    Hey Lagu,
How many processors do you have listed in your preferences? Might try changing them. Intel problems on an AMD forum? Too funny!(IRONIC!) Good luck with the problem Lagu!

    Hej tek 182!

I have listed 2 cores but the problem has gone. It had not affected any WU. I think it was a sort of dispute between the 2 in the beginning. I have 2 single Athlon´s so I had no one to compare with my Intel. It mat be funny but it is a reliable computer but my AMD Athlon 3200+ is for the most faster running various project.
I think i have read many project WU´s is suited to AMD and it is they as has Intel as state this but I don´t know if it is right or if it is Intel as have mad their computers in a different way.

    Lagu,
Is the error you reported mentioned in the PrimeGrid forums? I have not seen that one before. Maybe Rytis (project admin) can help.

I don´t know. I have newer been in their message board neither joined it. It is not a large problem. I have had it once then it was fine. But I have notised the same thing when running other project too. Maybe it is a bug in Boinc?
I use version 5.8.16 but I know you Vaughan use a newer one. Maybe I should upgrade?

I'm using 5.10.x but I think its still experimental. I often lose Explorer.exe from Win XP Pro now since switching from 5.8.16 to 5.10.0. It means I have to Ctrl-Al-Del and go File-Run and type in explorer.exe to get my icons and system tray back.

Yeah, that is a dilemma and a bad such. I dont like have to do these step. It´s better stay with a working Boinc rather with one as is as Dr jekyl and mister Hyde.
