    Hello...

...I am new around here so please be patient.

I started with boinc on SETI@home and then I found Rosetta@home. Rosetta struck a nerve in me since my father died of cancer when I was 13. It just seemed like I could do more good with Rosetta than I could could hunting for "little green men". Not to play down the work that SETI does, but I think I may actually be able to do more with Rosetta.

The first team I was on was USA. OK team, but not much for community. I stumbled across you guys while checking out Predictor of the Day and figured that since most of my "little" home network was running AMD, it might actually work for me to join you.

I appears I have dropped right into the top 5 for you, so once my server starts chuggin away on some good worthwhile work, I should be able to help keep our numbers up.

    BTW, my network consists of:
    2 Dell PowerEdge 2450s running Windows 2003 R2
    Dual 750Mhz P3s
One is my Exchange Server and since Exchange is such a pig, I have
not yet tried running Boinc on it....

1 Home Brew Nvidia nForce 500 running XP SP2
    Athlon 64 x2 4800+

1 Home Brew Nvidia nForce3 running XP SP2 (for the wife)
    Athlon 64 3000+

1 Compaq Evo running XP SP2 (got it from work for my boys)
    P4 1.8Ghz

1 HP Pavillion zv6000 running XP SP2 (Laptop)
    Athlon Sempron 3200+

Whee.... Also have a 1TB DataNAS on the network, I'd run Boinc on it, but that would be more trouble that I am willing to venture into right now.

    Thanks!

    Rob

    Hello...

Welcome to the Team, and nice rack of systems. As you look around our site you will notice there are a lot more crunching projects then you thought! Check out our STATS link on the Grey bar at the top of the page. There you will find a list of all the projects and, daily along with scrolled down list of monthly stats. Your own personal stats are neatly placed on links at the top of that page. Some of us work in both Boinc and Non-Boinc projects. I hope to see you comment regularly and we do like to joke around quite a bit, see HUMOR thread (click on FORUMS in grey bar) for details...

I know what you mean... I had to install and configure Exchange once on a server at my company. Bloody thing never worked right, and even when it did, it didn't stay that way for too long.

But welcome to the Team Rob, and enjoy your stay.

    You are most welcome Rob!

I think you have make the right choice. 2003 I bought a AMD Athlon 3200+ and I ran D2OL when I discovered there was a team called AMDusers. I had no team that time and because I had 2 AMD´s I decide to join that team and it is anything I never regret.

Feel free ask us about hard and software and if you ponder about anything. We have members as sure will try help you.
Once an AMDuser always an AMD user

Welcome to the party Rob. I agree with you on the types of projects you run. My preferences tend to be towards medical research also, but there are plenty enough options for everyone.
