    Thanks Vaughan!

I really appriciate it! It bring memories back such this:

I got a simple trumpet when I was seven years old and this song was one I played after notes. But I forgot the whole songs. All I remember was “it’s a long way…” This song become very popular during the WW1 and the soldiers sang it when they mashed by as a help to their morale and anxiety and to hold the walking speed. The song seems be nice. This song was my first contact with the English language and it is 51 years ago. I remember the melody as is was yesterday.
I think Ototero, Strongbow and all other feel of that song or perhaps I’m mistaken? Thanks also for the link as is valuable for me. I have seen many melodys but don´t been knowing alll the words. A secret: I´m very interested of music, lyric and instruments. The Swedish Nyckelharpa is ine of the instruments: http://www.nyckelharpa.org/ Take a look if you wich!
An English melody in Sweden that time must me more well-known where it comes from I think.

Lagu, Thank you for bringing back some good and happy memories for me.
I don't know if I ever told you but my mother passed away over 3 years ago, victim of cancer. But I still remember well to hear her sing that and other songs for me and my brothers and sisters when I was surely less than 10 years old. (almost 20 years ago...)
