Hello,
I've been a member for a few years and haven't posted much.
I'm usually pretty busy as I used to be a weather forecaster in the U.S. Air Force and now I'm a contractor working in Iraq for the U.S. Army.
I started off with Seti and once I joined amdusers, I got hooked on moneybee. As of this month I'm running Primegrid and so far it's ok. I've got 4 laptops running it and when I go home (Las Vegas) for vacation I will add 3 more laptops to the project.

Welcome back 202life, it's always nice to get input from other members. Don't be afraid to put in your 2 cents worth. I particularly, like to hear about other ppl's systems.
I'm curious about a laptop pharm, have you ever smoked any pushing the cpu at 100%?

Hi AMD Users
My name is Scott, I work as a setup tech for a wire harness company. I've been running boinc projects since march 2010.
I have 2 computers:
Monster-pc
phenom II X6 1090T
ASUS crosshair IV formula
8 GB DDR3 RAM
Gigabyte HD5850
1 seagate 1TB HD and 1 WD 1.5 TB HD
Thermaltake 850W PSU
Thermaltake Case
Corsair H50
Monster-II
phenom II X6 1090T
Gigabyte 785G motherboard
4 GB DDR3 RAM
HIS HD6870
80 GB WD PATA HD
Corsair 650W PSU
I call them monsters because they started life in a test bed I made from an old Dell P2 case.

Welcome to the Team Scott, thanks for speaking highly about your systems. We talk about ours quite a bit, even in real life and people (regular people) just don't understand. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to the forums Scott!
I agree with Nflight, and also think the term "Monsters" is well applied to your systems... Phenom II 1090T's and ATI HD6xxx are monsters! hehe
How did you come across distributed computing?

hello all. i was a member of team-scifi for about 2 years, but i got tired of the same 2 ppl posting in the forum about random sci-fi crud that i had no interest in. i am an AMD /ATI/AMD fanboy so i decided this team would be a perfect fit.
i am currently running one box with an AMD Windsor 6000+ dual core with an AMD HD4850 GPU on an ASUS m2a-vm (AMD 780 chipset). i plan on purchasing a AMD 1100T, 8gb ram on an ASUS am3 AMD 880 chipset with 2x HD6970s. i plan on running primegrid and collatz until i get at least 10 million on each. hopefully by then more openCL apps will be written for AMD GPUs.
i am a PC technician with 16 years of experience and have been using AMD almost exclusively over the past 10 years. my first AMD cpu was an old 5x86 133mhz integer only processor. it was on a socket 3 motherboard with an intel chipset. it lasted for 8 years. my current platform has been in service for 3 years, with a couple upgrades in the form of a CPU ( first a x2 4000+, then a x2 5000 BE now a x2 6000+) and GPUs ( first the onboard Xpress x1250, then a 6800 ultra (nvidia), then a X850 pro VIVO, then a x1950 pro, now a HD 4850).
i am 31 years old, born in Carson City NV (scheisshole) and now live in Everett, WA. have been here since 2001, so 10 years. i started Boincing in september of 2007 with a lone Athlon XP 2600+ that i overclocked into oblivion ( it literally died day 31/30 of its warranty) at one point i had a farm of 16 computers running at once. POEM@home was my first love and since GPUs have been being used, MWAH, Collatz, and Primegrid are my projects of choice ( MWAH has been running out of work a lot lately, so i have been sticking with PG and CC).

Welcome to the Forum there: mattio79 it is always nice to see new faces everyone in awhile. Its is also nice to see your committed like the rest of us are at staying on with AMD products. Most of us have an intel mixed in with a majority of AMD run boxen. Nice Avatar I might add => GPU fanatic I see! While I am at it welcome to the Team as well, the rest of the AMD crew are not as lucky as I am to be able to be able to respond so quickly.
Welcome Aboard
