I have a pair or Dell PowerEdge 2450s and I was wondering if anyone knew of a mobo that I could replace the stock board with?
I want to upgrade to a pair of Opterons if I can....

Hi Rob,
I have the Asus L1N64-SLI WS Motherboard with a pair of Opty 2216's on it and 4gb of memory. Its a pretty cool board, and it will be able to run the AMD quad cpu's when they arrive. So if your looking for a dual AMD opty setup, I think this is the way to go. I've had this running non stop since this board came out without one hiccup. Its not a cheap setup, but it is awesome, especially if your looking for the SLI gaming capability.

Well, these PowerEdge servers are 2U blade units. What I am specifically looking for is a board that everything will plug into.
To be honest, I want these servers to be powerful, but not necessarily gaming systems, since one server is my Main DC for the house and the other is the backup DC running Exchange 2003....
I want to be able to add more capabilities (ie web server, ftp server, etc etc etc) without killing the other functions. Exchange is a pig after all...
Any ideas?

If you want server boards only... I've looked for 2 brands with dual socket opteron server boards.
Asus http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=9&l2=39&l3=174
Tyan http://www.tyan.com/product_board_li...hipsetid=99999
On the tyan site there are some boards with 4 sockets as well if you would want to go crazy heheh
Tyan has a good range of motherboards for Opterons 22xx (socket 1207)
http://www.tyan.com/product_board_li...hipsetid=99999
But they don't come cheap, as the socket 1207 is for the newer range of dual-core Opterons 22xx that can later be upgraded to quad-core Opterons.
EDIT: Oops... you beat me to it Frederic. I didn't see your post when I was writing. :p
