    Hypertransport

    Can someone end this argument I'm having please.

    Now I thought AMD support HT2.0 with their current Opterons and that you can get the AMD-8132 chipset in servers which support PCI-X 2.0 and HT2.0.

    A guy at work has stated that AMD have never used HT2.0 and that they are still using HT 1.x, which I think is bollxxxx - (to put it very mildly, wrong).

    Does anyone know factually?

    My findings were inconclusive...

    I found a motherboard that supports the AMD-8132 chipset... the Gygabyte GA-2CEWH
    http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...tName=GA-2CEWH

    The speed of the Hyper Transport bus, as stated on the mobo specs, is of 800MHz, which corresponds to HT1.x, as shown in this site:
    http://www.hypertransport.org/tech/tech_htone.cfm?m=5

    But, then again, if you look outside AMD's chipsets, you can find this one...
    http://www.amdboard.com/serverworks_ht-2000.html
    Hyper Transport 2.0 specs -> http://www.hypertransport.org/tech/tech_httwo.cfm?m=4

    And there's this Asus board that supports "HT2000 MT/s", which relates to HT2.0's specs... (1GHz x2)

    I hope that is what you are looking for.

    It appears that it does have HT2.0. but if you read the revised section it has alot of issues.
