Race for slowest cruncher

Hey Stuart, (ototero), I see you are challenging my P233mmx 32MB RAM Win95b dinosaur for slowest Ubero cruncher of the day. I thought I owned this prestigious position

The challenge is open to everyone:
:arrow: You must run Ubero for the full 24 hours on the slowest computer you have.

:arrow: It must be the only DC project running on that computer

:arrow: You must post the specification for your "klein-cruncher" (I just made that word up)

I wanna play but my gateway is offline. We need to have another competition in about a week. I will have my wireless network up and running....
****Beerknurd closes his eyes, crosses his fingers and prays really hard that this configuration will work this time....

But if this competition get's too much fun i'll have to break out the 100 mhz Packard Bell. I swear that thing is from the 60's. But it still works. It takes at least 10 seconds to pull up a medium sized word document. I bet in text mode that thing would run about 7 per day.


I'll let yall know when i'm online. Then we can play again...

Question..... when I get back to PA... can I enter my 486 in the contest??

It's in storage and was made a file server under NT 3.51.... I could load it up with win2k (a nice heavy load) and then virus scanner, etc....

Is that a valid entry in the contest?

BC - yes, try it. The challenge is for the lowest spec computer possible to run Ubero for 24 hours. Pesronally, I found text mode ran but with GUI mode it crashed in under 24 hours.

Beerknurd - I'd love to see the Packard Bell try to compete. I might have to dust off the old 286 :shock:

My 'number cruncher' is an eisa plug in card that connects into the 8088 slot via a cable..... how's that for OLD.... that's 1984(?) vintage????

At the time it was fast as hell.... especially since I was running Fortran and the Lahey F77 compiler on my 20MB hd
