Does anyone have a Dell XPS M1330 notebook?

My son is interested in getting one and I wonder whether its robust enough for a 16 yr old. He intends to take Vista off it and install one of the Linux distros on it. I'm not sure if it had any proprietary hardware on it that might make finding 'nux drivers difficult.

The GPU is an 8400 M GS 128MB so its a little underpowered to wear the XPS name IMO.
