Let's see if I have this right. The race begins at the end of Saturday and beginning of Sunday in Portugal, which is 6 PM on Saturday Oct. 20 in New York City (Eastern Standard Daylight Savings Time), and runs for 7 times 24 hours?

Check the Calendar. It should give you the correct 'Start Time' for your Timezone....

I don't know the Eastern Standard Daylight Savings Time, but everything else is correct. It's on the end of Saturday and Beggining of Sunday here in Portugal and runs for 7 full days.

I guess it was a good time to add another system - a C2D mac mini ...

I've looked at these things but they are too expensive. Do they manage to get the heat away when running 24/7?

My last build was a Shuttle SD37P2V2 with a Q6600 G0 stepping. It was dear too but I guess its the price you pay for the small form factor box. Its very cool running and quiet too running 24/7 without a hitch.

According to a couple of threads on TPR, they do manage fine. One of the prominent members has basically been able to replace most of his old farm (mix of XP's, Semperons and A64's) with a couple of Macs. Uses less power because of it but also increased his output!!
