vista SP1
yeah, i have vista home premium. its allright.
but i was reading an article, which i can't find now, that was saying SP1 was going to be around 2 gigs in size. Anyone else hear anything about this? even on a t1 or similar, thats approximately a 3 hour long download.

I just found a whitepaper from microsoft talking about the Vista SP1, take a look here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
The standalone package will be large (1 GB for x86).
Installing the service pack will require a large amount of free disk space (7 GB for x86 and 12 GB for x64). However, most of this space will be reclaimed after installation.

so its only one gig. still, thats pretty hefty.

And does Micro$oft thank you for being a beta-tester for their product?
-
heh, im not a beta tester. microsoft retail release software is usually alpha at best. being a beta tester for microsoft would be like testing a prototype bullet proof vest with a live person in front of a 10 person firing squad..... in the early 80s.
