    Other Hobbies

Just wandering what everyone else gets upto to spend there spare time when not playing or messing with computers. Like that ever happens

Me? When I'm not studying, I enjoy spending some time gaming. Hence why I have my 360. Consoles are great fun when in a house of 4 similar minded guys as we can all relax and have a beer or two whilst deathmacthing in the front room.

I also try my hand at homebrewing my own cider. My last result was a bit of a bummer but my other brews have been quite good and my best to date was the 4 bottles of cranberry wine I brewed up

My other main hobby now that seems to take up ages of my life, is archery. Fairly new to the hobby but it's one I'm quite serious about and the archers I shoot with at uni are a top bunch. Worked out I spend 9 hours a week shooting with them. Which is more than I have lectures this year of my studies!

Also I do airsoft when I have the time and money but it's something I struggle to do whilst at uni considering I have no transport to get to sites.

Anyhow, just wondering what everyone else does to pass the time?

I do have a few hobbies. Some tend to be seasonal, and others are cyclical. But, I hit on most of them during the year. Here are a few…..

Scuba – I love to dive. This has been my primary hobby since 1985. I am a NAUI Divemaster (~20 years), and have soaked my head in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Pacific, and various inland lakes and rivers. And a few swamps when I was doing evidence retrieval for the law enforcement branch. Year round hobby,

Amateur Radio – This is a fun hobby that anyone can get involved in. My wife also has a license. I have “talked” to people in Europe, Russia, S. America and Australia (using an HF radio). I mostly use my VHF/UHF radios to talk locally these days. Year round hobby.

Molehill Inspector – A very minor hobby that I got involved in by chance. It requires an in depth knowledge of the future growth potential of these little known objects, and how their size changes in direct proportion to the whine factor of the person studying that specific molehill…. An opportunity type hobby.

Photography – A minor hobby. I just like taking pictures of the places I travel to. Mostly local stuff. I carry a small digital camera with me 90% of the time. Year round hobby.

PC Games – This happened when I figured out you could play games on a computer back in 1975. I started out playing a text based “Star Trek” game (I think) on our college mainframe. I play games mostly in the winter.

Ice Fishing – This is a fun social hobby. I have a few friends that do this. It’s a great activity to get you out of the house on a winter weekend. No pressure, heated hut, food, friends and some lite consumption of alcohol…mostly a winter hobby (the ice requirement thing…)

Mountain Investigator – Requires close proximity to a molehill with growth potential….

Oh, polluxmr2. I’m married, So I have lots of time for hobbies….
