    PS3 Anyone?

My wife just gave me an early Xmas gift.

    A 40 Gig PS3!!

Of course I had to try out the game play. I picked up a used copy of Oblivion, and went to work. It was fun (but I may have to try Warhawk....). But making the change from PC based games, using a mouse and keyboard was painful. I started to get the hang of it after an hour or so. But I can see more practice is needed.

My other problem is no HDTV. But again, my wife is on the case. She is all excited about buying a new LCD TV. We start looking this weekend....

The interesting thing about the 40 gig PS3, Is that it seems to be a low power user. Even though it is still using the 90nm chips. Running the game displays around 120 watts on the old "kill-o-watt" meter. I haven't loaded YDL Linux on this yet, but I may try the PS3grid "live CD" this weekend.

I'm not too handy with command line Linux, but I may give that a try if I have enough time this weekend.
Logic is the art of being wrong with confidence.

    Nice!

Though I prefer the 360. Just from a pure gaming situation. Lets me play games and use the PC's to crunch

Good luck on getting it crunching. It will chuck out some awesome numbers...

I hope that she got you the 2 year warranty with that. $200 If not and you are going to be crunching you better go back to the store and get that......

I went out tonight and bought myself another toy and now have it folding for us along side of it twin brother ps3. I might switch it over to the ps3 grid project later.

I wanna crunch for PS3GRID, but I can't because we don't have any free ports on our router. The instructions say it requires the PS3 to be hardwired and the TV room is across the floor from my dad's office where the router is situated so he doesn't really want to wire a network cable across the floor.

But Folding@Home is doing me fine.

Doesn't your PS3 have wifi capability? You could get a wireless router and configure it to run as an access point to allow more devices to connect to the internet.

I assume thats how he's crunching Folding. I'm guessing the PS3Grid project would prefer you to remain connected via a wire though from what gamer's been saying.

Actually the article is pretty neat, but the comments are hilarious!

I can just hear my Xbox360 getting more and more jealous by the minute...

"Hey, we have Ace Combat 6, give us some love!"
