The admins are making great progress towards getting the real science apps going but there is much tweaking yet to be done.

The project is still in testing so don't jump in with high expectations. Please make sure you read the threads about large downloads with short wu times. (Keep an eye on their technical issues forum if you want to get involved at this early stage).

Also, their forums have been open for a little while now and are full of additional information as it comes to hand.
